Approximately 16 stitches x 20 rows make a 4-inch square.
Finished Measurements:
About 13″ x 13″ when laid flat (The ribbing makes it smaller than it is when you wear it.)
Materials:
- I used 2 skeins of the scrumptious Knitologie – Glowing Worsted in colorway “Lightup” that arrived in my July 2019 Knitcrate delivery.
40% Superwash Merino, 30% Silk, and 30% Baby Alpaca, 150 Yards (137 meters), Worsted Weight. - Size 8 US circular knitting needles
Knit straight or in the round:
You can knit this straight back and forth for one long rectangle piece that is joined with a seam, or in a continuous circle (in the round knitting).
To Knit straight – One-piece with a seam.
- Cast on 148 stitches.
- Row 1: Knit 4 Purl 4 ribbing
- Row 2: Knit the knit stitches and purl the purl stitches to establish the ribbing.
- Repeat Row 2 until the desired length is achieved (or you have just enough yarn left to cast off).
- Cast off (knitwise for knit stitches and purlwise for purl stitches).
- Sew up the seam with a tapestry needle and leftover yarn.
- Weave in ends.
Knit in the round – One-piece no seam.
- Cast on 148 stitches.
- Knit 4 Purl 4 ribbing until the desired length is reached around and around and around 🙂
- Cast off (knitwise for knit stitches and purlwise for purl stitches).
- Weave in ends.
- That’s it!
Note to video above: I used size 8 not 9 – knitting needles 🙂
