So my November Knitcrate arrived last week and oh my goodness I couldn’t believe the beautiful blue yarn I received. So soft and squishy! Then I read the label – Knitologie Glowing Worsted in Colorway Sea. Ahhhh the sea. *sigh* 40% Superwash Merino, 30% SILK, and 30% Alpaca. Wowza!
I then perused the booklet of patterns that comes inside each monthly Knitcrate delivery and found it. There is was – a knitting pattern for a beautiful cap called the Caudal Fin Cap knitting pattern by Vanessa Ewing. That was it. I was hooked. I immediately got out my yarn winder and proceeded to make two delicious cakes of the yarn. As my husband watched me squealing with delight I thought to myself THIS CAP would be his. I knew it would be uber soft and warm and match his beautiful blue eyes. I discovered I had all the tools I needed at hand – size US 7 and US 8 circular needles, and double-pointed too, cable needle, stitch markers and my handy dandy Abacus Bracelet to count rows, and got to work.
Honestly, I couldn’t put it down. I seriously had to force myself to walk away when I needed to work. Let’s just say I stayed up past my bedtime a few nights to finish this pattern. Today I got the camera out and took a couple of photos. I think he likes it. No… I KNOW he likes it. And I sure like him modeling it, too.
Since being a subscriber to monthly Knitcrates I have expanded my repertoire of stitches, both knitting, and crocheting. I have gotten to know and follow new designers, made lots of things for myself and for others and have totally enjoyed a reprieve from work work work π
