Like many knitters, I knit for relaxation and to calm my mind from the daily hustle and bustle of my job. So at the end of almost every day, my yarn and my needles are my safe and happy place.
I look for patterns that offer something new to learn, but that doesn’t challenge me too much. In other words, something I can do while watching TV and sipping a glass of wine or a cup of coffee. The real healing in working with yarn for me comes with the repetition, the slow and steady growth of a piece that I will wear, use, or gift to someone.
