The Saturday Sweater Knitting Pattern

Hey all you knitters out there! I’m happy to announce the birth of The Saturday Sweater! Longing for a mohair-ish type of pullover that was warm but not itchy, I came across Buttercream™ Angel Hair Yarn and decided to create my own design. I chose Lime Green, because I love green… and thought it would go well with jeans, which of course I also wear on Saturdays.

The Saturday Sweater madebymarniHere’s what you’ll need:

  • 5 Skeins of Buttercream™ Angel Hair Yarn, available in a variety of great colors, and VERY AFFORDABLE.
  • Size 10 U.S. (6mm) Circular Knitting Needles
  • Large Stitch holder
  • Stitch Counter
  • Jumbo Tapestry Needle

Below is a link to the pdf of the free Saturday Sweater knitting pattern I wrote which you can download and print. I did have a test knitter offer some notes and suggestions and once I incorporate some more feedback I will refine the pattern as needed. Please let me know how it goes! And hashtag #thesaturdaysweater on IG if you want!

The pattern was tested on Ravelry by one knitter and it turned out well. She had some suggestions to the pattern, but I’d love to know how it works for you.
Stand by and I’ll post the pdf and her notes online.

I’m thinking about doing this in a bulky cotton, maybe something like Knit Picks Billow. Do you have any concerns about this choice? Any suggestions for an alternative? Spring is around the corner, but I live in the mountains and cotton is a great transition yarn. Thanks!!

I think the Knit Picks Billow would be lovely!
